Clocks are turning forward tonight/tomorrow morning. Either way, don’t forget! We’re losing an hour. Which means I get an hour less of holiday, or an hour less of weekend for the rest of you. Sad isn’t it?
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far awa-… Wait wrong movie. The new X Files movie is coming out this summer – around August I think. I remember watching X Files when I was kid. I got as far as the end of the opening credits, and then when ‘The Truth Is Out There’ flashed across the screen, I ran out from under the duvet and out the room to safety. I can’t remember why I found it so scary, but give me a break, I was young. That theme tune still gives me shivers though.
The stills from the movie that have been released so far don’t look too thrilling. But I don’t know if it will be any good. I never saw the first movie. And TV shows that turn into movies, well none of my TV shows have ever turned into movies so I don’t know if they’re ever successful or not. Isn’t a Sex In The City movie supposed to be happening as well? I remember when I first read about that. I thought they were joking. And then they they weren’t. And then I thought they were crazy.
Even before Firefox 3 has officially been released, Mozilla has already announced plans for Firefox 4. And I think they’re getting just a little ahead of themselves. Not in terms of announcing it early, but in terms of, when that article says ‘crazy ideas’ they really do mean crazy ideas. This whole ‘virtual OS’ business is a little far-fetched. Does anybody really want something like that? It’s an internet browser. That’s it. That’s all it should ever be. Firefox has already had previous problems with being a memory hogger, so if they really plan on having little ‘applications’ and ‘workspaces’ as well, then that just is waiting for some trouble.
The other plan of being able to ‘[sync] a user’s online preference whenever they use a browser anywhere’, is being just a tad bit idealistic. Unless Microsoft agree to use Firefox as their default browser on all their machines instead of IE, I don’t think it would be much use to a lot of people. Because I’m guessing this is going to work a bit like Foxmarks. Now, I’m sure plenty of people use Foxmarks, but the thing is, you need to have Firefox on the second machine in the first place. I don’t know what the rules are with at the workplace if you’re allowed to download Firefox or not, because I know at school I can’t simply go around downloading Firefox on to their machines. So I don’t know, maybe it’s just me.
Why is a ’small’ called a ‘tall’ in coffee shops? Do they need to have such fancy ‘grande’ sizes? I just like the good ol’ small, medium, and large. Simple. Straight forward. Plain English. And everyone understands it. Just, why?
